5 Caving Trips That Are Not For The Faint-Hearted

Part of the attraction of caving for me is pitting myself against nature and these 5 caving trips are amongst the most technically difficult trips I've done in my thirty plus years of cave exploration.

Completing each trip in the knowledge that I'm one of a privileged few to have ever done so has led, in each case, to an enormous sense satisfaction.

Caving is Cool - P8, Derbyshire

Filmed in P8 (Jackpot) on Wednesday 28th October 2020 in rather aqueous conditions.

Why pay to go to a waterpark? This is far more adventurous and far more exhilarating!

P8 was one of the first caves I did when I started caving in the late 80s. It was with the now defunct West Midlands Cave Exploration Group. Conditions were very dry and we explored beyond sump 1. Obviously this wasn't possible on this day!

The Story of Caves

 The lack of caving videos this year is because of coronavirus restrictions meaning that I've done very little caving . It has also brought to a temporary end my career as a public speaker. In my talks I include a section on cave development. I've now made that section into an online video.

Another Year in the Life of a Cave Videographer 2019

Here's Caver Keith's traditional annual caving roundup video. It contains some previously unseen footage.
It’s not been the most prolific year for the studios in terms of videos completed, but it has been a very good year in other ways. Keith's completed a couple of commissions, gone back to his roots, won a prize and an award, completed a behind the scenes video which had been in the planning stage for a couple of years and got his best ever viewing figures on YouTube with over 10 million caving video views in 2019.
